Highland Highlights is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Highland Hospital, Kanawha County Schools and Suddenlink Communications.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.
The show airing July 5, 2016 – July 11, 2016 ‘highlights’ the flood recovery going on in WV.
We interviewed Erica Mani, Regional Chief Executive Officer, with American Red Cross.
She talked about how the Red Cross has organized relief, shelters, food distribution, raising monies etc.
We also interviewed Katie Hackney, MA, Therapist with Highland Hospital.
Katie discussed the anxieties, emotions and shock of such a devastating life trauma. She also talked about some tips to deal with this tragedy.
And we talked with Jessie Shafer, Development Director with the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association.
She discussed how they are assisting displaced families who have pets. Raising money, food, drink and shelter for dogs, cats and other family pets.
