Highlights is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Highland Hospital, Kanawha County Schools and Suddenlink Communications.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.
We interviewed Brenda Isaac, Lead School Nurse for Kanawha County Schools. She discussed the role of school nursing and how it has evolved over the years.
The West Virginia Association of School Nurses, Inc. (WVASN) is the only professional organization dedicated solely to West Virginia’s school nurses and the students that they serve. WVASN exists to promote and advance the quality of school health services and health education throughout the state and to advocate for the advancement of West Virginia’s school nurses. WVASN is open to all nurses and friends of nurses.
She talked about their upcoming conference scheduled for November 2-4, 2016 at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, WV.
The keynote speaker is Janice Seleckman. She is a national speaker and author of School Nursing A Comprehensive Text Editions One and Two. She will be speaking on Chronic Conditions, Mental Health and Data Collection. WVASN looks forward to seeing you at the fall conference.

We also interviewed Brent Stephens and Wes Eary, co-organizers of Black Society Art Show that will benefit the Herbert Hoover High School Art Department.
The event will take place at A Hole in the Wall Studio at 1007 Bigley Avenue Charleston, WV.
They discussed details of the event. It promises to be a unique experience featuring 18 visual artists, a fashion show and live music.
Admission is only $10.00. That gets you access to the arts, food, and all the festivities at the event.
Herbert Hoover High School was devastated by a flood on June 23, 2016. This event is to raise monies for their Art Department.
